This roller coaster delivered its final rides on July 18, 2010 and was replaced by the Green Lantern in 2011.
Six Flags Great Adventure opened the second of three seven-inversion custom looping coasters built at Six Flags Theme Parks by Arrow Dynamics. Similar to its sister coaster at Six Flags Great America, the Great American Scream Machine added 3 feet to the lift hill to become the tallest looping roller coaster when it opened in 1989. It's height was surpassed a year later by the third Arrow looper, Viper, at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
