California's Great America features the tallest, fastest wooden coaster in Northern California – Gold Striker. This custom Great Coasters "twister" has been well reviewed by coaster enthusiasts. Gold Striker is built around the park's iconic observation tower. After receiving noise complaints from the neighboring office building the park took drastic measures and enclosed the first drop.
