Six Flags Over Georgia announced on July 17 that the Georgia Cyclone would be closed forever on July 30, 2017. The roller coaster will be modified by Rocky Mountain Construction using new track technology for the 2018 season to become Twisted Cyclone.
Georgia Cyclone was a mirror image of the original Coney Island Cyclone. One of four clones of the original built at different Six Flags theme parks in the United States, this famous twister began with a steep 53-degree, 78-foot descent that accelerated the trains to a speed of 50 miles-per-hour! The entire ride was 2,970-feet long and lasted just under two minutes.
