California's first floorless dive coaster Emperor finally opened at SeaWorld after two years of pandemic delays in 2022. With a theme based on the Emperor Penguin this Bolliger & Mabillard Dive Coaster is the tallest and fastest coaster of its kind in California. Thrill-seekers seated in a three-car, floorless train ascends 153-feet before dropping 143-feet straight down at a 90-degree angle. Emperor will be the most thrilling coaster in San Diego reaching a maximum speed of 60+ miles-per-hour and tackling three inverting elements– an Immelmann loop, Barrel Roll, and Corkscrew.

March 2, 2022 – Emperor soft opens
July 29, 2020 – SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. announced all unopened new rides slated for 2020, including Emperor at SeaWorld San Diego, will instead open in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A year later SeaWorld delayed the opening for another year until 2022.
Nov 19, 2019 – When first revealed this roller coaster was named Mako, but during the IAAPA Orlando trade show SeaWorld announced it would be called Emperor.

Height requirement: Riders must be at least 52 inches tall and less than 79 inches tall
