Opened as the tallest, fastest roller coaster in San Diego, today it still remains the fastest. Electric Eel is a Premier Rides built Sky Rocket II launched, looping coaster model. This roller coaster could be considered the "Vekoma Boomerang" of this decade.
Electric Eel rises up 150-feet at SeaWorld. Riders seated in a three-car train are launched forward, then backward, then forward again through the station with enough momentum to complete the 853-foot long circuit. At it's highest point is a non-inverting loop element, which is followed by a descent into a second loop with an inline twist inversion. The entire experience lasts just seconds. The only redeeming value to this roller coaster is the compact footprint, because unfortunately, the ride experience itself, is a total gimmick.
