After the departure of the infamous Perilous Plunge, the park renovated its Boardwalk area with three new rides including Coast Rider. This family wild mouse coaster is a large, extended park model version of this classic ride. Riders seated in individual cars ascend a 52-foot lift, but before you begin the classic wild mouse switchbacks, first comes a five-story descent. What follows is a classic layout of hairpin turns, sudden descents and ascents, and an overall great family coaster experience. Coast Rider is also popular since it's one of only a two larger roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm that welcome riders under 48 inches tall.
