Lagoon spent considerable time using its in-house creative teams to design and engineer the most thrilling ride in the park. Cannibal begins with the vehicles making an ascent on a vertical elevator lift within an enclosed structure. Rising over 200 feet, this diving megacoaster takes thrill-seekers on a beyond-vertical free-fall into an underground tunnel. The custom layout that follows includes three inverting elements, including a 140-foot tall Immelman loop, a dive loop, and something the park created and calls a "Lagoon Roll". Cannibal at the time of debut features the steepest drop in North America, 4th steepest in the world, and claims the world record for the tallest beyond vertical drop on any roller coaster.
