Silverwood Theme Park
If you're looking for a theme park in the northwest, look no further than Silverwood Theme Park in Athol, Idaho, just 47 miles east of Spokane.
Known as the largest theme park in the northwest, Silverwood, has quite a bit to offer visitors. The park's 65 attractions, include five thrilling roller coasters in Coaster Alley. Tremors, a 65 mile-per-hour twisted coaster and Timber Terror, a second one, are perfect for wooden coaster fans. The park's newest coaster Aftershock is giant inverted boomerang coaster that drops you twenty-stories twice to then fly upside down six times in about two minutes.
The park is also notable since it is the home to the Corkscrew (originally from Knott's Berry Farm), the first modern looping roller coaster.
Country Carnival caters to the nostalgic with a Ferris wheel, Krazy Kars bumper cars ride, bumper boats, and a Tilt-a-Whirl. During the warmer months you can cool off by taking a whirl on the Thunder Canyon rapids. A kids area has rides for little ones and several that accommodate parents as well.
Boulder Beach is a complete waterpark that is included with park admission. The waterpark has thrilling water rides like the 55 mile-per-hour Velocity Peak water slide, plus a family wave pool and 650-foot long family raft ride. For younger guests, Polliwog Park is a child friendly water play area.
Silverwood also offers plenty of live entertainment options, a variety of food stands, concessions, games of chance and opportunities to shop.
