Park History

Six Flags America began as Wild World water park in 1982. The water park went bankrupt in 1990 and was sold to new owners after remaining closed for 1991. Under new ownership the name was changed to Adventure World and the focus changed to the amusement park. In 1999, the park was re-branded and renamed Six Flags America.
