Kings Island

Formerly Paramount's Kings Island, this 364-acre theme park and water park is located 24 miles north of downtown Cincinnati and 36 miles south of downtown Dayton.

The largest theme and water park in the Midwest, Kings Island entertains more than 3 million guests annually making it one of the most popular seasonal theme parks in the United States. The theme park offers more than 40 thrill rides including 14 roller coasters, a 15-acre water park, fun-filled entertainment, and an assortment of shopping and dining options.

Boomerang Bay, the park's water park, is included with admission to Kings Island and offers more than 50 water activities including 30 water slides and a 36,000 square-foot wave pool. Nickelodeon Universe is a children's area with 18 attractions that has been voted the "Best Kids' Area in the World" by Amusement Today readers for seven years straight.

Kings Island theme park is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company.

Park History

Kings Island opened on April 29, 1972. Also, known as Paramount's Kings Island from 1993 to 2006, the park dropped the Paramount name for the 2007 season after the park was acquired by Cedar Fair Entertainment.
