Nickelodeon Universe

Since its debut inside the Mall of America, this seven-acre park remains the largest indoor family theme park in America. Now re-branded Nickelodeon Universe, this theme park features rides, shows and attractions based on Nickelodeon's popular shows and characters - SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and more.

Nickelodeon Universe offers more than 30 rides and attractions for all ages and excitement levels. There are also nine places to eat, shopping and plenty of live entertainment. Attractions at Nickelodeon Universe include a Giant Wheel, log flume and five exciting roller coasters. Some of the recent additions include the SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge, Avatar Airbender, Splat-O-Sphere rides.

Admission to Nickelodeon Universe is free, however to experience the rides guests must purchase an unlimited ride wristband or point pass. Each ride has a specific point value and points may be purchased in any quantity.

Park History

This seven-acre indoor family theme park opened at the Mall of America in 1992. Originally called Camp Snoopy, the park had a theme based on Snoopy and the other characters from the popular Peanuts comic-strip. In January 2006 after the license to use the Peanuts characters expired the park was renamed Park at MOA and the Peanuts characters were removed. In March 2007, Mall of America announced that it partnered with Nickelodeon to create the first Nickelodeon theme park. The newly re-branded park would feature attractions and live entertainment based on the many popular Nickelodeon characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Four months later in July the mall announced the park would be named Nickelodeon Universe when the transformation is completed in March 2008.
