The world's first rock 'n' roll theme park is slated to open in Myrtle Beach in Spring 2008. Hard Rock Park will celebrate the spirit of rock 'n' roll through rides and attractions. Hard Rock Park will feature six distinct "rock environs" celebrating rock's culture, lifestyle, legends and irreverence: All Access Entry Plaza, Rock & Roll Heaven, British Invasion, Lost in the 70's, Born in the USA, and Cool Country. The 140-acre theme park will offer more than 40 attractions for rockers of all ages. There will be high-energy roller coasters, shows, children's play areas, restaurants, cafes and retail stores. The park's multi-purpose live music amphitheatre will invite top entertainers to perform at the park. Of course a park about rock 'n' roll wouldn't be complete without an ultra-modern sound system that Hard Rock Park says will create a totally immersive experience.
Park History
On July 16, 2006 executives hold the groundbreaking for the world's first rock 'n' roll theme park with a massive "Mount Rockmore" sand sculpture. On June 2-3, 2008, Hard Rock Park holds a two-day grand opening event with the Eagles in concert.
Hard Rock Park began operating on April 15, 2008 with a "Sound Check" soft opening. The park was anticipated to be fully operation on May 9, 2008.
