Park History
Galaxyland Amusement Park opened in 1985 and was originally called Fantasyland. Shortly after opening the Walt Disney Company objected to the use of the name Fantasyland and a lawsuit was filed that eventually forced the park to chance its name. On July 1, 1995, Fantasyland was renamed Galaxyland and new space theme and mascot were unveiled.
