Cedar PointCedar Point is a 364-acre amusement park/resort that is home to the largest collection of rides and roller coasters in the world. It has been named the "Best Amusement Park in the World" in a number of surveys. The park dates back to 1870, making Cedar Point the second oldest amusement park in North America.

Located in Sandusky, Ohio, on a Lake Erie peninsula, Cedar Point is surrounded by water on three sides, providing an unusual resort setting. Beautiful white sand beaches line the peninsula and become playgrounds for resort visitors on warm summer days.

Cedar Point is best known for being the "Roller Coaster Capitol" of the world with 17 different roller coasters, the largest collection for any single park. Many of the roller coasters have broken world records. The current flagship attraction Top Thrill Dragster opened as the world's tallest, fastest roller coaster in 2003.

Besides the unmatched collection of 70 rides, including 17 roller coasters in the amusement park, Cedar Point's peninsula also features the 18-acre Soak City water park, The Breakers resort, campgrounds, and Challenge Park miniature golf, go-karts and skycoaster. All of this makes Cedar Point an unbeatable vacation destination.

NOT TO MISS

The "must ride" at Cedar Point is Top Thrill Dragster. Debuting in 2003 it blew away both the world records for height and speed for a roller coaster. Top Thrill Dragster stands 420-feet tall and accelerates to a 125 mph! While a little short, the overall experience more than makes up for it and easily explains why guests race to this ride every morning.

The most popular attraction at Cedar Point is Millennium Force, another record breaking roller coaster. This impressive 300-foot tall giant delivers a fast, smooth, long ride. Millennium Force begins with a steep climb up 310 feet to drop a car load of brave souls down a thirty-stories where you reach a top speed of 92 mph. The rest of the ride is about speed, over-banked turns and hills until you fly into the brake run, still traveling at nearly 70 mph! It's a greatroller coaster and there's no question why it's such a popular attraction.

Cedar Point has 17 roller coasters, the largest collection in the world, so obviously all of the roller coasters are recommended attractions. If roller coasters are not your thing then a ride on the Cedar Point Sky Ride passing high above the midway or a spin on the classic Cedar Downs may suit you better.
