Located near the metro area of Des Moines, Adventureland Amusement Park, is the largest amusement park in the state of Iowa. This family owned attraction has been in operation since 1974 and offers over 100 rides, shows, and attractions to entertain your family.
All of the park's attractions are located in an individual area, each with its own theme. When you visit you'll begin on Main Street and then venture off to explore the other themed areas like Adventure Bay, Bavaria, The Boulevard, County Fair, Dragon Island and Iowa Farm.
Rides found at Adventureland, include five roller coasters, thrill rides, family rides and of course kiddie rides for the smallest guests. The roller coaster collection includes two wooden coasters and one double loop steel coaster. Other thrill rides are the 200-foot tall launch tower called Space Shot, a giant spinning pendulum called Sidewinder and Splash Over, that the park fondly calls their "human washing machine."
During the summer the included waterpark attractions are the perfect place to cool off. Here you'll find a six-lane racing mat slide, endless river, raft slide, six-story freefall body slide and the recently opened Bermuda Quadrangle with four single and double rider tube slides.
Adventureland also has plenty of classic amusement rides and family favorites, like a log ride, sky ride over the park, Carousel, and river rapids ride. For the youngest visitors, the park offers eight rides, four with no height requirement.
