Top 10 Coasters
The Comet - The Great Escape, located in the upstate resort area of Lake George, NY, is home to the Comet, a roller coaster with a special history that goes back to 1927 when it operated as the Crystal Beach Cyclone in Ontario, Canada. The Cyclone was a ferocious coaster, built by legendary designer Harry Traver, and was known to break ribs and cause nosebleeds! It was rebuilt in 1947 to be more rider-friendly and became the Crystal Beach Comet. But when the park closed down in 1989, the coaster was eventually auctioned off and moved to The Great Escape, where it re-opened in 1994.
