Arlington, TX -- Cirque Dreams Coobrila, a Cirque Dreams Production, returns to Six Flags Over Texas on Saturday, June 14 and promises to be bigger, bolder and brighter than ever. Created by the same team currently presenting Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy on Broadway, this exclusive nighttime extravaganza will feature all new acts including high-flying wire performances, beautifully choreographed trapeze routines and breathtaking silk flyers.
"Coobrila creates unparalleled excitement and energy in the park," said Steve Martindale, Six Flags Over Texas Park President. "The show is a one of a kind experience that transports the pageantry of Broadway right here within our gates. It was a huge hit with our guests last year, and with all new acts for 2008 it promises to once again be the must-see event of the summer."
The park's 10,000 seat Time Warner Music Mill Amphitheater has been transformed into a mystical backdrop equipped with multiple stages and performance runways that set the mood for the production. The elaborate stage structure compliments the special effects, fanciful illuminations and amazing displays of aerial artistry.
"From the opening act to the grand finale, we've added a lot of exciting components to this year's show," said Neil Goldberg, creator and director of Cirque Dreams Coobrila. "We want to take guests on a magical journey full of fresh twists and turns with bold, imaginative music and choreography."
The three signature elements of the show remain -- the outdoor performances will take place at night when the temperatures are cooler, illumination effects throughout the show's performance will make the environment BRIghter, and performance hours each night will be LAter allowing guests to experience a full day of park thrills before enjoying the show. Together, these three elements make up the show's title, "Coobrila" and fuel the three principal components that make the production so unique.
Presented exclusively for Six Flags Over Texas, the acclaimed cast of international acrobats and local performers from North Texas will showcase a variety of diverse talents while highlighting Cirque Productions' signature style of wildly bizarre and creative costumes, original music and unlimited imagination. Cirque Dreams Coobrila runs June 14 through August 17 and begins each night at 9:30 p.m.
