New Braunfels, TX -- Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort will open a new special effects filled family thrill ride Memorial Day weekend that will offer a roller coaster like experience. The new Dragon's Revenge family raft ride at the New Braunfels waterpark will feature a detailed story and theme.
Dragon's Revenge opening Memorial Day weekend at Schlitterbahn Waterpark will feature a series of uphill blasts and conclude with a thrilling two-story freefall into the castle's mote.
"We are excited to unveil our one-of-a-kind family-thrill adventure beginning Memorial Day weekend," explained Darren Hill, Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort's general manager. Not only is this the debut of the first heavily themed attraction in our company's 29-year history, but we are also proud to premier many of the new state-of-the-art attraction effects in the waterpark industry."
Dragon's Revenge begins in a detailed queue where Schlitterbahn guests will be fleeing a potential dragon attack. Here you'll weave in and out of castle ruins while attempting to find an escape route before eventually crossing over a draw bridge to enter the castle's guard tower. Here guests will discover that the only way out is through a labyrinth of caverns.
The ride begins at this point with guests boarding a two-man raft that is quickly propelled through a series of uphill blasts. The flume follows a route around the perimeter of the castle before riders encounter a fog hidden, two-story freefall into the castle's mote.
According to Schlitterbahn, riders will pass through six dark, creepy caverns with magical special effects. Guests will experience spinning tunnels, theatrical lighting, fiber optics, riveting original music, aromatic atmosphere, fog, faux fire and an encounter with the angry dragon.
Dragon's Revenge will have a height requirement of 42 inches.
