Family Kingdom Named Finalist In Customer Service Awards

Myrtle Beach, S.C. -- Family Kingdom Amusement Park in Myrtle Beach has been named a finalist in the Impeccable Customer Service Awards (I.C.E.) for the Amusement/Entertainment category. The award honors individuals who have excelled in customer service and businesses that have raised the bar of hospitality.

The winner for the category will be announced at the I.C.E. Awards being held tonight February 21, 2008 at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach. The show begins at 6:00 pm.

Family Kingdom was recently voted in an annual readers poll the best "Family Amusement Venue" by The Sun News. Also, online travel web site Trip Advisor ranks the park as one of the top five amusement parks in the United States outside of Orlando.

Located on Ocean Boulevard in the heart of Myrtle Beach, Family Kingdom is the Grand Strand's only seaside amusement park. It offers a complete amusement park experience with over 30 rides and attractions, in addition to midway games, family entertainment and traditional park temptations such as funnel cakes, cotton candy and corndogs. Opened in 1966, it is home to the legendary Swamp Fox wooden roller coaster and the largest Ferris wheel in the state of South Carolina.

The Family Kingdom Water Park, located just across Ocean Boulevard from the amusement park, features three serpentine water flumes each with a drop of greater than a 100 feet, two speed slides and two intermediate slides, all with a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean. A Lazy River measuring more than 400 feet meanders around splash pools and beside a waterfall. Splash pools feature two rain trees, a multi-tiered waterfall and eight kiddie slides.
