Clementon, NJ -- When 100-year-old Clementon Amusement Park reopens this coming Memorial Day weekend guests will find millions of dollars of improvements, including new management, new logo and the largest expansion ever at Splash World water park. The park is also adding 34 more days to its operating calendar in 2008.
Recently acquired by Oklahoma-based Adrenaline Family Entertainment, Inc., the park is currently undergoing a major renovation.
Repeat visitors will immediately notice the changes that include a new welcome sign on Berlin road featuring the modified name Clementon Park & Splash World, new logo and dramatic lighting, plus a newly resurfaced parking area. After passing through a new park entrance, guests will find a new Victorian themed main street area.
Inside the park improvements are being made to the landscaping, theme, plus there will be new operational and guest service standards, updated restaurant menus and new in-park entertainment to complement the collections of rides and attractions.
"I am thrilled to be part of the transformation of this Southern New Jersey family theme park," said Clementon & Splash World general manager, David Dorman. "The park is just 15 minutes from downtown Philadelphia, offering area residents and groups a clean, friendly, professionally run theme and water park right in their own backyard."
The announcement also included details on the largest expansion ever of Splash World, the park's popular water park that is included with park admission.
The water park upgrades include one of the country's biggest aqua play structures - Laguna Kahuna. This new Polynesian themed water play structure offers 10 slides, 8 different play platforms and more than 125 sprays, jets, bubbles, streams, waterfalls and wheels. Atop the 50-foot tall Laguna Kahuna structure is a giant water bucket that dumps more than 422 gallons onto the roof of the structure every few minutes.
Clementon hopes to also entice more groups to visit. The park is renovating the Forest Pavilions that offer seven covered private areas for catered special events, meetings and celebrations. The park's pavilions give groups of 100 to 8,000 or more a place to meet, eat and re-connect during the day.
Also new in 2008, Clementon Park & Splash World will be hosting its first Halloween themed event, HalloScreams. For this special event the entire park will be transformed into a Halloween super-destination with spooky decorations, special entertainment and frightful fun ranging from mild to wild.
HalloScreams will be included with park admission and free to season pass holders.
"The new Clementon Park and Splash World will give fun-seekers a classic, quality, family theme park experience with beautiful new improvements at a family-friendly price," added Dorman. "We want this park to be a place families can afford to visit time and again throughout our extended operating season."
Clementon Park & Splash World reopen for the 2008 season on Memorial Day weekend. The park then operates through Labor Day, plus weekends in October for HalloScreams.
