Largo, MD -- A 27-year old woman died yesterday at the waterpark at Six Flags America. Apparently she suffered a heart attack while riding one of the park's water slides and was found floating unconscious by lifeguards in the splash down pool.
Park officials administered CPR and used a defibrillator in an attempt to revive her.
The victim was riding the Shark Attack, a partially enclosed 220-foot water slide that descends 52 feet when she went into cardiac arrest. Six Flags closed the water slide as a precaution and will conduct an investigation.
According to Six Flags this is the first time anything like this has happened on this ride.
