Hot Springs, AR -- Magic Springs & Crystal Falls theme park announced that it will invest $7 million over the next two years to expand the park. This year's improvements include a new $2 million shoot-the-chutes water ride.
Plummet Summit is expected to open on Memorial Day weekend according to the park. The new water ride will carry 20-passengers per cycle down a chute that leads to a drenching splash down. The attraction will carry up to 1,000 passengers per hour.
The park began its expansion after it reopened in 2000. Last year Magic the park installed a new Vekoma suspended looping coaster that led the way to a record attendance of more than 400,000 guests. Plummet Summit is expected to help the park continue its attendance growth.
Meanwhile the park is already working on finalizing its plans for yet another new attraction in 2006.
