Buena Park, CA -- Knott's announces its annual Halloween Event returning for it's 29th season as the world's first and biggest theme park Halloween Event. For nineteen terrifying nights the park will transform each evening to become Knott's Scary Farm.
Returning this year is the "gruesome twosome" co-hosts Elvira, Mistress of the Dark and The Crypt Keeper from Tales From the Crypt who will present a 160-acre living horror movie complete with themed scare zones, shocking lives shows, horrifying walk-through mazes and over 1,000 monsters lurking in the fog.
This year the park will feature a total of eleven walk-through and ride through mazes the most in haunt history. The haunt will also feature six live shows, including separate productions staring and inspired by the two horror icons Elvira and The Crypt Keeper.
Four scare zones this year will terrify guests and make it virtually impossible to find refuge from the more than a thousand professionally made-up and costumed monsters roaming in search of victims.
Dates for this year's Halloween Haunt 2001 are October 4-7, 11-14, 18-21 and 25-31. The gates open at 7:00 p.m. and the terror continues until 1:00 a.m. or 2:00 a.m. depending on the night.
In addition to the Halloween Haunt mazes, shows and special attractions guests can enjoy most of Knott's wild rides including GhostRider, the longest wooden coaster in the West, Supreme Scream, the tallest vertical freefall in the West, as well as classics like Montezooma's Revenge, Jaguar and Boomerang.
Guests wishing to skip the crowds and gain early entry can take advantage of Knott's Pre-Scare Dinner. This specially themed buffet featuring Mrs. Knott's world famous Fried Chicken, followed by early entry into the park a few minutes before it opens to the public.
Knott's Scary Farm fans can also make it an all-night affair with special haunt packages at the neighboring Knott's Raddison Resort Hotel.
