Pigeon Forge, TN -- Dollywood entertainment park is busy putting the finishing touches on its annual Smoky Mountain Christmas festival running November 6 - December 30. A 45-foot-tall, three-tiered Christmas pyramid-the country's tallest-is the focal point of this year's celebration.
The Christmas pyramid is the centerpiece of Dollywood's An Olde World Christmas, the newest element of Smoky Mountain Christmas. The pyramid gently revolves, revealing intricate carvings depicting the Nativity. Measuring 20 feet in diameter, the first tier features the three kings and a camel rotating, keeping a watchful eye on a stationary Mary, Joseph and the Christ child. The second tier revolves to reveal two shepherds and five sheep, while three trumpeting angels occupy the third tier.
Smoky Mountain Christmas features more than 3.5 million lights, ten holiday shows, traditional Christmas foods and more.
