Gilroy, CA -- Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park celebrates autumn with a month-long Harvest Festival and a Halloween Spook-tacular, featuring friendly scarecrows, an open farm fair, a pumpkin patch and a variety of children's activities. The park will be open and all rides will be operating during the festival weekends, Saturdays and Sundays through October 26.
The centerpiece of the Bonfante Gardens Harvest Festival is a children's interactive farming adventure that features 12 displays designed to educate and entertain festival participants. The Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association will be supervising all activities in the Events Plaza as it's transformed into: Mr. Carrot's House where children can learn about nutrition; working farm where kids can grab a stool and milk Lucy and Ethel Milking Cows; Scarecrow Alley, where life-size scarecrows created by local schools, businesses and organizations will be showcased to park guests.=20
Kids and parents can also pick out a pumpkin while they browse through the park's pumpkin patch, find their way through a kiddy maze made of hay, or sing-along to Halloween songs during a special Halloween performance with Mona the Vampire in the Lakeside Amphitheater.
On Halloween, Bonfante Gardens invites kids to suit-up in their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat throughout the park at the Halloween Spook-tacular. Docents will be stationed at nine of the park's Circus Trees passing out treats from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on October 31. Kids can even participate in a costume parade led by Mona the Vampire and the Bonfante Gardens characters.=20
