Sandusky, OH -- The Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross, in cooperation with Cedar Point, is holding an auction for thrillseekers who want a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be among the first riders on the new world-record-breaking Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster.
The Red Cross is auctioning seats on Top Thrill Dragster to the 96 highest bidders, with bids starting at $75. A winning bid will include breakfast at the park, a commemorative medallion, a coveted inaugural ride on Top Thrill Dragster and complimentary admission to the park on Opening Day, Sunday, May 4. (Successful bidders will select seats with the highest bidders choosing first.) Proceeds from the auction will help fund a variety of Red Cross programs.
Reaching a mind-boggling 420 feet into the atmosphere and screaming to a top speed of 120 mph, Top Thrill Dragster will be the tallest and fastest roller coaster ever built. From the top of Top Thrill Dragster, riders can look down, yes, down, on the mammoth 310-foot-tall Millennium Force roller coaster.
The Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross will be accepting Top Thrill Dragster bids from Wed, April 9, 2003 through 8:30 am on Wed, April 30, 2003. For more information on how to place a bid, please contact the Red Cross Web site at firelandsredcross.org. Bids will also be accepted via e-mail through the Red Cross Web site.
