Santa Clara, CA -- The Bonfante Gardens board of directors approved Paramount Parks' business plan and has set April 18, 2003 as the official opening day for Bonfante Gardens Theme Park in Gilroy, Calif.
The park will open under the leadership of Paramount Parks' veteran Barb Granter. Granter, who has worked for Paramount Parks for 20 years, will serve as vice president of Bonfante Gardens. Most recently, Granter was vice president of STAR TREK: The Experience, an attraction operated and managed by Paramount Parks in Las Vegas, Nev.
"Granter's expertise in management and operations will provide the kind of leadership we need to carry out Michael Bonfante's vision of horticultural beauty and the educational benefit Bonfante Gardens can bring to families," said Bob Kraemer, chairman of the board for Bonfante Gardens.
Additionally, Paramount Parks is introducing a new program for families who are interested in visiting both Paramount's Great America and Bonfante Gardens. Anyone who purchases a 2003 Paramount's Great America VIP Pass will receive unlimited visits to Bonfante Gardens at no extra cost.
"Our guests are looking for value and flexibility when they select entertainment options," said Granter. "The VIP pass option is an example of how we plan to offer savings to Bay Area families…and entertain them all summer long."
A Paramount's Great America VIP Pass for a family of four is $240 (which equals $59.99 per person). An individual VIP Season Pass is $69.99. Guests will automatically receive admission privileges to Bonfante Gardens with purchase. One pass will grant guests admission to both parks. Passes must be purchased at Paramount's Great America.
