HyperSonic XLC Returns To Operation at Kings Dominion

Park guests board the first train to be launched on HyperSonic XLC for the 2002 season. The first front row passengers celebrate the reopening of HyperSonic XLC at Paramount's Kings Dominion.

Doswell, VA -- HyperSonic XLC at Paramount's Kings Dominon made a triumphant return to service on Thursday. The only air-launched roller coaster in North America is back in operation.

The roller coaster which opened in 2001 has remained closed this year while the park completed some necessary modifications. The changes to the ride are expected to reduce the amount of downtime this ride experiences.

According to the park the testing went well, but took a bit longer than expected.
