Sandusky, OH -- Be one of the first to twist and shout on Cedar Point's Wicked Twister. The Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross, in cooperation with Cedar Point, is holding an auction for thrill-seekers who want to be among the first riders on the new Wicked Twister roller coaster.
Wicked Twister is the tallest and fastest "double-twisting" impulse roller coaster ever built and the second tallest roller coaster ever built at Cedar Point. Standing 215-feet tall, the coaster uses linear induction motors (LIM) to reach a top speed of 72 mph as the train travel forwards and backwards, up and down, the two twisting vertical spikes. Wicked Twister will open on Cedar Point's Opening Day, Sunday, May 5.
The Red Cross is currently auctioning seats on Wicked Twister to the 32 highest bidders, with bids starting at $75. A winning bid will include an inaugural ride on Wicked Twister, a complimentary breakfast, admission to the park and a souvenir medallion, which will be personally engraved and sent to the rider at a later date. (Successful bidders will be assigned seats with the highest bidders seated first.) All Proceeds from the auction will help fund a variety of Red Cross programs.
The Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross is accepting Wicked Twister bids now through 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1.
