Cedar Point Lights Up The Night With Fireworks Display

Sandusky, OH -- The sky over Cedar Point will come to life with amazing colors and brilliant pyrotechnic displays as the famed amusement park/resort celebrates Independence Day with a fantastic fireworks show on Wednesday, July 4 at 10 p.m., while the park will remain open until midnight. (In case of inclement weather, the program will be postponed until Thursday, July 5.)

Produced by world-renowned Zambelli Internationale, Inc., New Castle, Pa., this year's presentation promises to be bigger and better than ever. Zambelli Internationale, Inc. is the oldest and largest American firm in both manufacturing and displaying fireworks with a history that covers 100 years and three generations of the Zambelli family.

Following the 20-minute patriotic salute to America will be the Cedar Point Summer Spectacular, a nighttime laser, light and sound extravaganza presented by FirstEnergy, the official energy supplier of Cedar Point. The Summer Spectacular is an action-packed audio and visual exhibition that features cutting-edge art and high-tech video backgrounds. The program will begin at 11 p.m. on July 4 and will be shown at 10 p.m. nightly through Aug. 20.

Thrill-seekers who long for just one more ride on Millennium Force, the tallest and fastest coaster in North America, or any of Cedar Point's awesome array of 68 rides that includes 14 exhilarating roller coasters, will rejoice in the park's extended hours.

Beginning Sunday, July 1 through Saturday, Aug. 18, the park will be open an hour longer each evening. On Wednesday, July 4 and Saturdays, July 7 through Aug. 18, Cedar Point will remain open until midnight; while Sundays through Fridays through Aug. 17, the amusement park will be open until 11 p.m.
