Testing The Waters

Well I guess I am going to test the waters out. I have made a few changes to the scripts that should reduce the load on the servers. Right now the board will remain open on an hour-to-hour basis. I suspect because of the holiday weekend we will not see any load problems since traffic should remain light.

So here is the latest...

First off a huge apology for the reliability issues around here. It plainly sucks. Since December we have had problem after problem with two host providers. So I have to say that I really appreciate your patience and all of the support I receive. Downtime like this would crush some sites. I guess it just goes to say that URC people stick together during tough times.

Here is the latest....

The timing of this problem could not have been worse. I am all set to move to a new private server in early May, which should give us a huge improvement in speed and performance.

The good news is the server will likely be ready sometime in the next couple of days. If I can speed through the configuration I will move the URC to the new server or atleast the message boards.

Again, I apologize for the problems. I know some of you really enjoy the site and sort of depend on it. In many ways I to as well since your support and use of the site keeps me motivated.

Have a great holiday weekend.

No apologies needed Eric!

We love the board for the people that are on it and the information we discuss. And as with any people oriented system like this, it starts from the top! :) Have a great Easter. This board is worth the wait. --K
