Cedar Point 2001-2002

Alright, there was a post eariler about CP's next coaster. It was sort of correct, but I must say a lot of that information was wrong. The stats are not so defined as of this date but here is what has leaked into my lap:

2001 Floorless Coaster for Cedar Point The location is correct but the height will be around 160 feet and actually drop close to 10 feet below the surface. The rumor is numbered to 8-11 inversions. Remember, a lot of this information is imcomplete and may change. The "boardwalk project" as they like to call it will take effect, but will not be completed till 2002 once a new CCI woodie is inplace. It's basicly bringing the beach into the Main Enterence walk. FYI: Disaster Transport WILL NOT move!

2002 CCI woodie will run up and down the beach near Hotel Breakers. It will then reverse in the parking lot of the Hotel (where they plan to place the parking that they will loose I'm not certain). Finally, the "boardwalk project" will wrap up with the western part of the boardwalk shaping once the new woodie goes inplace.

As much as I want to say "Yeah", I must say I have my doubts. I really can't see them adding anything major in 2001. usally the new coaster from the previous year still is the main attraction. BUT things are different now, PKI and SFO are beefing up their arsonel and that competition is stiffer than ever. So I would not rule out these rumors. I would love to see a floorless at CP and they can put it where that unsightly area is next to the Mean Streak. I would much rather look at a shiny new B&M than a bunch or junk laying arond rotting away.

I have to say I do have my doubts, possibly thinking to myself that the things will happen in reverse. I just don't see Cedarpoint shelling out all that money in three years. They should at least see the revenues from MF first with that kind of money.

*Cough* don't get your hopes up but I heard Snoopy is calling for another coaster for 2001 along with Mr. Floorless. *cough*
