since kennywood loved to bragg so much about the phantom having the biggest drop and top speed then they should add on to the pitfall,to 400ft to beat the current record holder.then they can bragg they can bragg they have the tallest freefall ride again.they didnt hold the record for pitfall for long cause it was eclipsed the next year by 140 ft

Add to pitfall why, so the line can get shorter than it was last year. Get this I talked with several people a week ago and did you know that Pitfall was one of least rode rides at Kp last year. Now granted it was down several times but overall other older flat rides were ridden by more people. Yea add to it and waste the money they did on that nice lawn ornament. Oh by the way anyne planning on going this Sat. for preview? Ripples

Well, I'm definitely not going to doubt you, being a great source for Kennywood info, but I am very surprised. I think I've only been to Kennywood 3 times since Pittfall opened, but it was the longest line (both in time and people) I waited in all three times I was there. Was just last year the bad year or has it always been poorly ridden?

Off the topic, but on the same park, Mary Lou and company will be holding media day for Aero 360- the new Zamperla Hawk 48 that was installed on the Wonder Wheel's old site.

As for Pitt Fall, Intamin are cheats, sneaks, and terrible with servicing customers post sale. Kennywood has had a terrible time getting parts and service from Intamin with Pitt Fall. Reverchon is much the same, but not quite as poor as Intamin (KW did have several problems with Exterminator last year as well).

I say Intamin sneaky mainly because they did grant Kennywood an agreement that when Pittfall opened at 251 ft in 1997 that it would be the world's tallest for x amount of years. So, the next year, they installed the single (but larger) car freefall on the side of Dreamworld's Tower of Terror (Australia)- a single track LSM Reverse Freefall Coaster. Legally, they didn't go against Kennywood's agreement because they didn't build a new structure for the freefall- they just installed it on the structure of an already existing ride. I wonder if Intamin will improve upon this reputation they have developed with the recent surge in their mega coaster production.

the line was always long every time i rode it.if the line got shorter that's cause people are too darn afraid to ride anything over 200 feet.you have to remember patripman, there is only 2 thrillrides at kp,the phantom and pitfall, and most people who like intense rides like that don't come to the park that often just to ride only 2 rides.they just dont bother coming for 2 rides.if kp had 4 killer steel coasters, like an invert a standup and a normal sit-down 300footer, alot more people would come to the park more often and those rides would have much better ridership than the racer j.r and probably the t.bolt too.most people who go to kp are the queesey type that cant take an intense ride

What about the Blue Fall, in Japan? Didn't that come before the item in Australia anyway? (and that certainly eclipsed Pittfall, no doubt.) Also I thought i heard something like the deal was only for 1 year - I might be making that up though. -ben
