I thought these were of interest. They were pulled off of RRC

"A friend, who is a major stock holder in Cedar Fair, informed me that there will be BIG NEWS released next month regarding Cedar Fair Parks. She would not tell me what it is, but the smile on her face must mean something big." - theman25

"It IS big -- and FIRST DROP has the scoop. It will be old news by the time our next issue is out, so maybe a posting to our website is in order?" -Bill Buckley

My guess is we may see a clone coaster at each park next year.

Then of course could also be my biggest nightmare come true.... Six Flags Worlds of Fun, Six Flags Cedar Point, Six Flags Berry Farm, Six Flags Valleyfair, and Six Flags Dorney Park.

Scary....but hey we never thought Six Flags would sell out to Premier either.

1) A TA2K is going up at KBF of the S:TE-humbling variety. Although they could call it the world's tallest coaster, they'll call it a 'thrill ride' instead and claim two world records.

2) They're renaming themselves 'Knotts Theme Parks Inc.' or some variation. While CP will keep the same name, the other parks will be renamed Knott's Dorney Park, Knott's of Fun and KnottyFair.

3) They acquired a management contract for the Ogden parks with an option to purchase.

4) They've been bought by Paramount--which would explain the near-lovefest in Cincinatti's paper 3/30.

So there you have it -- or there you don't. I never claim to know any uncle's cousin's niece's vice-president's pet frog.....just guessing.

Actually #3 may not be that far off. Remember how they said IF they were to ever build a park from ground up they would add the Knott's name to it because it's so well known.

Knott's Cedar Point Knott's Dorney Park Knott's Worlds of Fun Knott's Valleyfair!

Knott's Soak City Knott's Oceans of Fun

Hey it could happen Dustijn

I am not a betting man, but if I were, I would bet a large sum on this with one variation...I think CP will obtain the Knotts prefix like the rest.

Actually this "rumor" had trickled my way a few weeks back by a highly intelligent credible source. Until then, it hadn't even crossed my mind.

5) They finally purchased Michigan's Adventure. Rather than dump a pile of rides in it right away, they'll build a sprawling resort hotel and market it heavily in Chicago/Milwaukee as a wonderful getaway (since you can catch a ferry across Lake Michigan to get there). Whatever rides/attractions they add will be heavy on the 'rustic' theme.

PS - You meant #2 in you last post, right?

Yeah CP I meant 2.

Oops! :)
