Boarding Passes are being used on Goliath

What do you think of that new boarding pass idea that SFMM is using on Goliath? Or maybe its not a new idea and has been used on other rides at other parks, but this is the first I've seen of it.

The way it works is an employee hands out numbered tickets to those at the end of the line. Another employee collects them just before the station. The idea is that the employee collecting them makes sure they are in numerical order, or close to it, in order to prevent line jumping.

Sounds good in theory, but could it hold up in reality. SFMM has been using it on Goliath for a while, and no problems have been reported on it yet.

SFGAm has been using that policy since Batman opened (I *think* Batman was the first ride to originate it because of the overflow of people that wanted to go on it... anyone know for sure?)

In a few words, I LOVE THE POLICY. They used it once in a great while on Raging Bull last year, and when they did there was no line jumping, no people getting in and out of line, etc. When they didn't, people would step over the 2 foot "barriers" and just walk wherever they pleased, which really ticked a lot of people off and made for some darn near explosive que lines. They'll also run it on Viper, Giant Drop and Batman on days that they have people to spare. I wish they did it on busy days, but it's usually only on days they have extra people...

I think they are going to need them on Stealth...

Then it has been succesful. I wish it would be used more often at more parks like KBF. A few months ago when I was there, it was pretty crowded with line jumping galore going on that day, which was p..... me and some others off.

We don't have line jumping problems that much in the Southern parks. The few times I've seem it happen it almost caused a riot because persons at the back of the line would call the person(s) out. I guess we are like that in the south; low tolerance for bull.

I hear you man, I will not go for that either. No one gets past me if they weren't there before, I don't care what park I'm at, and I'm from the West!

This is not the first time that SFMM has done this. I've seen it on Viper some years back.

I do think it's a good idea--makes you think twice about jumping into a line.
