As sad as it is to see any coaster bite the dust, SOB was nothing but problems since its inception.

Son of Beast couldn't even perform for the URC event at Kings Island in 2000. Instead, we were stuck with ERT on The Beast - disappointing I know. ;-)

Damn, that was heartbreaking to watch. Seriously.

But as I recall that was a very good ERT on the Beast :)

Man that was intense, and sad, looks like SOB is almost completely down now.

I wanted ERT on The Racer during URC 2 but NO we had to have the Beast. Oh yeah Eric who's brainy idea was it to have ERT on SOB? If I remember after our first ride nobody approached the thing the rest of the day.

I forgot to ask, does this mean those who used SOB as their poster name now have to change? SOBFAN, SOB21223, SOBrules,SOB2000, SOBPKI, PKISOB,SOBrider, SOBriderPKI, pkisobRIDER etc.

I recently saw that KI is planning on keeping parts of SOB for mementos, I think it's great that KI is doing that instead of other parks, who pretend their "maintenance nightmare" rides that were removed never existed.
