OK, with all this talk of opening days I'm getting excited so lets start this thread! First step is to pick the park we all want to go to. It seems Hershey was the top one talked about. So lets start the vote for those who want to participate.

Hershey is fine for me. SFGAdv is around the corner so that works too. I'll entertain all suggestions except for Dorney, of course!

Lol, at Mike.

I'm going to both this year, so I don't see any reason we can't plan even an informal get together at all 3 parks (plus BGE and/or KD.) I'm kinda centrally located here in DC, but if you Northerners are up for a trip down South, we can go for that, too.

I'm on HersheyPark's site and signing up for group info. Discount up to 40% on admission, but 20 is the cutoff..gotta have at least that. I'm gonna make up a name for our group..it's a required field to get the group info.

No commitment until much later, o' course.

Don't start with the "Michael" again, Doctor :) I only asked that question because it sure would be nice if SkyRush was open when we went.

I got an e-mail from Hershey already, and it sends a mixed message. The site says family/friends get discounts for 20 or more, but the e-mail says the discounts are only for non-profits.

We don't have to go at the beginning of the season - lets pick the park first, then we will start playing with some dates. There are a lot of people who want to go so finding a date that suits everyone will be the hardest part. We'll save that for after the holidays!

When we communicated on facebook the other day I checked my work schedule. I get on the boat May 17th and get off June 7th. So We'll be at BG Williamsburg on June 11th, weather permitting. Hopefully we all can get together sometime during the season.

If you are going to BGE for Verbolten, you may want to rethink that strategy. They have been shooting for Memorial Day openings for their last 3 or 4 installations and there may be "teething" issues as this is an Intamin, not a B&M.

Yeah Paul...I think I will just see how it progresses over the winter months and try to figure out if it will be worth the trip down there Memorial day weekend.

Reading this post reminds me, Eric its time to plan the 15 year anniversary gathering of URC. We did 5 and 10 at Knoebels at the PPP's but I truly think a park gathering is needed and it would be interesting to see who would attend.

If it was local..Knoebels or elsewhere...I'd be down with that. I was at the 10 year and met a few URCers, but spent most of the time with a friend. I think it'd be terrific to have some sort of get-together.

Just posting to subscribe to the thread. I am down for whatever for a URC meetup thing.

I am going to try and be at SFGAdv for opening day though. It's just a tradition. Even though I have had bad experiences on opening day the past few years...but anywho, it would be a waste for me to go to Hershey without Skyrush being open yet.

Hershey is like 3 hours from me so it's not bad at all, but I'd like to make the trip when the new ride is ready to open.

Any idea when it opens? sorry if I missed someone saying it earlier.

If we pick Hershey we won't pick a day to go until Skyrush is open. Mike and I are going to GAdv opening day so maybe we can meet up at some point and say hello!

You mean Michael, right? I don't know who this "Mike" character is.

Sounds good to me! I have no idea what April 5th holds for me yet but I will be sure to post on the forums about it when I know I'm going.

Also, good to hear about the choice for Hershey. RCDB says May for the opening date. I guess we'll see.

Sign me up! I've only met one real live person from URC and I'd say he changed my life. I can't imagine what I'll be like after meeting more!!
