Looks like SFNE opens 4/14, weekend after Easter.

Looks like SF America opens 3/31, weekend before Easter.

Wherefore art thou, GAdv????????

I was poking around on Facebook and I seem to remember seeing a post saying "see you on 4/5" with a picture of the Starflyer. Don't know if I have that right now, but I can check it out for you once I get done here on URC.

I tend to doubt they'd open for the season on a Thursday. But let us (OK, ME) know what you find out. If that does turn out to be accurate, I'll put in for a vacation day :) Then of course, I'd be there three days later on Easter as well!

And I can easily switch my day off. I have the coveted Mon/Fri off so to switch for a Thurs should be no problem. It's the weekends that are hard to switch. I too have a hard tome believing they would open on Thurs - people are still in school so who would work the rides?

Well, straight from the horse's mouth ( or facebook page)

Six Flags Great Adventure

Another weekend without Six Flags roller coasters? I think it's time to start a countdown to April 5, opening day!

Guess you better ask for that Thursday off now.

Since I'm not a Facebook person (I have an account, but I look at the site once in a blue moon, and don't really know how to use it)..my first thought is if that post could simply be from a fan making assumptions, or someone simply spreading bad information. To Jen's point, since that is Holy Thursday and the start to a long weekend for many..schools included..I guess it's not OUT of the realm of possibility. I'm still doubtful, though. However, I have a boatload of vacation time built up, so I'm gonna put in that Thursday AND Friday..cover my you-know-what.

I'll be looking to switch my day off today!

But again..that post is not from the park/company. I'll take it at face value. But I will put in for those days off..approval takes a while.

If true, I'm gonna guess we might not even need that Flash Pass you offered!!!

*EDIT* I just realized the post you linked to was a month and a half ago. I've already requested the day off, but I'll look for something official on the SF site, hopefully sooner rather than later.

The facebook page is run by the park.

Got the day off.

I already checked and that's the day I have to get on the boat. Let me know if you guys plan to visit Great Adventure later on in the season.

It figures! Of course we'll be going other times later in the season. Let us know when you're available and we'll make it work. It'll be fun!

I'll let you know when/if I do. Paperwork's turned in, and I don't believe we have any events scheduled at the theater that day/weekend.

Around the time this thread was active, I sent an e-mail to SFGAdv to confirm Paul and Jen's on-line findings. I got an e-mail back today (they were closed for a period in between for the holidays.)

It's definite..GAdv's Opening Day will be Thursday, April 5.

I'm curious if they've ever opened on a non-weekend day before. Not in my memory, but I didn't keep up with such things before I was around 30-ish. Anyone know?

I know they have opened on Fridays in the past. I remember a Good Friday opening day when I was younger.
