First I'd like to say that my thoughts and prayers go out to all the folks impacted by the recent Irene natural disaster.

Second, I'm Curious to hear if there is any rollercoaster or park damage anywhere along the path of Irene.

As of now I know KK is down at SFGAdv. It's structure is supposedly intact but it's the only coaster that has not reopened. The website says it's down for maintenance so I don't know exactly what's wrong with it. I'm going on Friday so I'll try and get more info if it isn't up by then.

Just searching the web, they said that Coney Island "took a battering" and had some significant flooding. I'd be pretty suprised if there's any serious damage concerning CI's rides, although I'm not the best source of info down here in FL. The most that I've heard what Irene done to parks was cause closures (like at SFA & KD).

Sorry for the dreaded & frowned upon double post.

KK's downtime is unrelated to Irene. It went down for scheduled maintenance a day or more before the park closed for Irene. So that's good news.

The rides at SFGAdv are all okay, but there are trees down and a small bridge leading to Frintier Adventures collapsed from the torrential rain, and is currently under repair.

Good to hear the park is operating normally.

Do you know if that's the bridge close to the Log Flume/Runaway Train, which is the main entrance to Frontier Adventures? Or was it the bridge behind El Toro, which leads to Bizarro and the concert arena? Those are also considered part of Frontier Adventures.

Whew! I was worried. Hopefully it is planned to be up by the holiday weekend then.

Any particular reason they can't wait until after Labor Day to do this?

Because he knows you're coming, and he wants to be in proper working order for his big date? :)

Thanks for the responses. Glad to hear the damage is only minimal.
