Seeking Kings Island Advice

I'm planning a trip to Kings Island and Holiday world the next day.

Just wondering: Which days would it be the least crowded? (I've been reading a lot of trip reports where people have had very short wait times on most rides.)

And what's my best plan of attack when entering the park? Should I make the usual rounds (i.e., Invertigo, Drop Tower, Flight Deck, etc.) or should I head straight for Diamondback? And, in case of the latter, what is the best route to go? Straight through Nickelodeon Universe or further up past the Eiffel Tower?

Also, I plan to get to Kings Island by the early afternoon. I'd like to get there as early as possible, but I don't know if I'll be having guests, and if I do, I definitely won't get there early.

Thanks in advance!

I too usually arrive at KI later in the day and start at the front of the park, as you have said. By that time of day FOF will already have a line so nothing to be gained there, otherwise I usually recommend ppl start there when the park opens.

Because of early rides, there will already be a line for DB no matter when you arrive. Good news is, it's been running very reliably, all day, every day, so wait times are tolerable. There is a single rider line but now groups are using it, so you'll need to check out the line when you get there. Either way you go, thru Nick or past ET and Beast will get you there in about the same amount of time.

Other than FOF and Firehawk, most weekdays wait times are short.
Look for someone named Rob working ticketing or parking and say Hi.

Since you won't be getting there early. I really can't help much on what to do at what times of the day. Really if you get there at opening Flight of Fear and Firehawk are the first things to do. Diamondback eats people. Really opening is the worst time to go to it.

What days? Tuesdays at KI are pretty dead. Id visit HW later in the week Wed-thurs.

Things at KI that never really are a long line. Adventure Express, Racer, Vortex, Beast (Except at night) Sometimes Delirium isn't very long. Look in the Q line and its about five minutes per row filled. Hate to say it but Flight of Fear and Firehawk are almost always long waits, Its just the loggistics of getting people in and restrained Used to be you could go on Flight of Fear about closing and they'd be waiting for riders (Minimum ten riders to launch) but now Firehawks over there and the areas a bit more popular.

Thanks for the tips, fellas!

That's an interesting approach: Doing FOF then FH. But from there, where should I go? I would almost think Vortex, Beast, then Diamondback. I could then cut back down/across Nickelodeon Universe and make my way over to Invertigo.

How have the waits for Invertigo been lately? And is it even worth it? (I've never really been impressed with this ride.) I guess if the lines are long I'll skip it.

Tuesday it is!

Dinner time 4-6pm are probably best for Invertigo and Drop Zone. SOB is down, I don't know for how long.

Have fun
Chuck

Ride in the face-forward-first front seat (the gate at the far left end of the station). This seat pulls the most G's going backward thru the loop, just after the "near miss" at the far end of the second lift.

The line varies throughout the day. Check it occasionally.

Poor SOB is getting a bad wrap. I was at KI this Monday and Tues. Lines were great. The early entry was the ticket though. I wish I would have rode Beast at night. Gives me something to look forward to next year when my granddaughter is tall enough to ride it all! I liked KI better than CP due to Terrain but maybe thats because I'm used to it.
