Game 1- Penguins at Red Wings

Sat. May 24 8:00pm on VS.

Don't miss it. Games 1 & 2 on VS., 3-7 on NBC. It's set to be one of the best final series in a while. Hopefully, it will live up to the hype.

My prediction:

Pens in 6

Any others?

Zac
Die hard Penguins and anything Pittsburgh fan.

I hate both those teams. I hate Pittsburgh and Detroit more than anything along with New York and Boston.

Awful... just awful.

I hate the Penguins with a passion. Especially that awfully over-rated Cry baby Crosby.

My prediction: Detroit in 5

There is nothing I hate more than when someone calls Crosby a diver, embelisher, or cry baby. What do you really know about hockey anyway?

People need to shut up when it comes to attacking Crosby. He is the face of the league now and will be for the next several years, so get used to it. Just because he can out-skate, out-stick handle, and pretty much out play every player in the league, there's no reason to talk about him this way.

I haven't missed a Penguins game in 6 seasons either on tv or in person and I will tell you now that other teams get away with more penalties against him than any other player. He is always getting hooked, held, and roughed, and not even half of them are ever called. He does draw a lot of calls, but thats because he is so much better than other players. If they can't keep up with him, and decide to slash him to the ice, they should get a penalty.

So before you try to talk about things you don't really know anything about, try doing your research, because you really sound stupid.

Well said Zac. Crosby is the real deal. What a fast and furious game 3!!! The NHL got two great teams representin' the Stanley Cup Finals. I'll go with the Pens in 7.

Oh a diver! I forgot to mention that...but keep in mind these are just my opinions.

Anyone watch game five and the TRIPLE overtime win by the Pens? Talk about weathering the storm! Doesn't matter though because it doesn't matter how you win as long as you do.

I think that if the Pens do lose, it is much more respectable to lose in 6 or 7 games, especially after the way they started the series.

Zac, who says that if you haven't watched this series, then "Shame on you for six weeks!" -Mike Lange

And since I mentioned Mike Lange, I thought I'd post a list of his normal calls. Anyone here a Pens fan? Any favorites?

Goal Calls

Book 'em Dano.
Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too.
Call Arnold Slick from Turtle Creek.
Get in the fast lane grandma, the bingo game is ready to roll.
Get that dog off my lawn.
Go ahead....Make My Day.
Great balls of fire.
Hallejulah Hollywood.
Heeeeeeeeeee shoots and scores.
He beat [goalie] like a rented mule.
He doesn't know whether to cry or wind his watch.
He's smiling like a butcher's dog.
How much fried chicken can you eat?
I'll be cow kicked.
Ladies and Gentleman, Elvis has just left the building.
Let's go hunt a moose on a Harley.
Look out Loretta.
Michael, Michael Motorcycle.
Never teach a pig to sing.
Oh no, Eddy Spaghetti.
Scratch my back with a hacksaw.
She wants to sell my monkey.
Stop the press.
Ten ho vykouril jako cigaretu. [Said in Czech.
Translation: He smoked him like a bad cigar.]
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog.
You would have to be here to believe it.

Misc Calls
And [player] takes the heat out of a hot kitchen.
And [goalie] says NO.
Believe me.
Big Ben struck one.
Buzzing like beeeeeeeeeees around a hive.
Great shot [optional: by forward name], but a better save
[optional: by goalie here]!
He could have had lunch and dinner too.
He forgot one thing....the puck.
He gave [goalie] more moves than Mae West.
[player] Hasn't scored since the eighth grade picnic.
He got his hand caught in the cookie jar.
He left [defenseman] on the parkway going to the airport.
He knocked [player] on his wallet.
He picked his pocket like he was walking down 5th avenue.
He's all over [player] like a new pair of shoes.
He should get 5 to 10 for robbery on that save.
He was hit so hard his kids will be born dizzy.
He would not be denied.
If you missed [whatever], shame on you for six weeks.
It's a hockey night in Pittsburgh.
It will take a miracle on Grant street for the [team]
to come back from this deficit.
[player, usually Lemieux] Is putting on the ritz.
More patience than Mercy Hospital.
[player] Is like a bulldozer in a construction yard.
[player] Joins the parade.
[player or team] Is throwing out checks like it is the first of the month.
Rebound...there is no rebound.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the action.
The [team] is throwing everything but the kitchen sink.
The Pens are moving from left to right.
[or right to left] (for radio broadcasts)
The turkey is on the table.
Twinkled the twine.
Wrrrrrrrrrrist shot.

My favorite is "He hasn't scored since the eighth grade picnic."

Classic. What was FSN thinking when they fired him? At least we can still listen to him on radio, but its not the same. Any real Pittsburgher knows what I'm talking about :)
