questions about dvd players & recorders.
i own a hi8 sony camcorder.now these days it,s very hard to find a hi8 vcr that plays my hi8 tapes from my sony camcorder.so because finding a hi8 vcr is very dificult the only way for me to play back my hi8 tapes is through the camcorder itself.now all the videos that i took on my hi8 camcorder i am thinking about transfering over all my hi8 videos to dvd.
now i own a cd player that plays audio cd,s.now if you own a cd player then you probably are familiar with this also.on a cd player the songs are called tracks.when you insert an audio cd into the cd player the display shows the # of tracks(songs)for that cd.it also shows the total length of the cd in minutes & seconds.this is what the display shows when the cd is in stop mode.
while the cd is playing the display shows which track is playing plus the stop watch in minutes & seconds from the beginning of that track.when the track ends it counts down in seconds(never more than 3 or 4 seconds)from the end of the previous track to the beginning of the new track.
on my cd player in addition to randon which i never use i also have 2 other repeat options.one is to repeat all the tracks on that cd again & again.the other option is to select one track & repeat that one track again & again.
if you own a cd player then you are probably familiar with this.
1)transfering my hi8 videos to dvd the quality of my videos on dvd how will the quality of my videos be on dvd compared to the quality of the videos when i play back my my hi8 tapes in my sony camcorder?next question.
2)do dvd players have the same display as the display on cd players?for example in stop mode a cd player shows the amount of tracks on the cd plus a stopwatch for the length of that cd.in play mode it shows which track you are on & the stopwatch in minutes & seconds from the beginning of that track.my question is that do dvd players have the same type of display that cd players have?next question.
3)if dvd players do not have tracks how do i get around from one part of the dvd to another part of the dvd on a dvd player? next question.
4)what are the repeat options on dvd players?do dvd players have repeat functions where i can have my dvd play back a certain part of the dvd again & again or i can only play back the whole dvd or is it diferent on every dvd player?the main question is that what are the repeat options on dvd players?
i am trying to find the answers to the above mentioned 4 questions.any help would be apreciated.
