I am planning a trip to Europe in September and could really use some help. For all locations mentioned below, I am looking for reasonably priced lodging suggestions, preferably with a private bathroom in the room but not necessary. Any restaurant recommendations would also be great.

Sept. 10th or 11th: I am planning on going to Blackpool Pleasure Beach one of these days. I need to know what hours the park will be open, if they have a POP then, and how to get there from the city of London or Heathrow airport.

Sept. 10th or 11th: One of these days will be spent sightseeing in London.

Sept. 12th -15th: Will be spent in Paris sightseeing and will hopefully include trips to Disney and Parc Asterix.

Sept. 16th & 17th: Oktoberfest!!! Do they have a POP or is it pay per ride.

Sept. 18th - 23rd: Italy including Venice, Ravenna with Mirabilandia, Florence, and Rome.

Thanks in advance for any help and please feel free to E-mail me at englecw@imsint.com.

NJ Chris.

BPB should be open then. They are usually open between 10AM - 10PM though I can't say for definite. To get there head North on the M1 until you get to the M6. Then head Northwest on the M6 until you see it signposted. It will likely be pay per ride, as the experiment in '99 with wristbands was not very profitable for BPB
If you have time dont miss Alton Towers, either, which is roughly half way between them. Check www.altontowers.com for info.

Make sure you see the Dome and the Trocadero

Don't know much about these.

Oktoberfest is strictly pay per ride, since the rides are operated by lots of diffetent showmen. Notably Rudolph Barth and Oscar Bruch. It might be worth trying to arrive a little later than the above date, as the earlier days are usually a lot busier. Not that you'll ever have seen anything like the crowds there before.

Not too many theme parks in Italy, but Ravenna looks promising with the opening of Katun next year.

Depends if you have a car or not in the UK. Blackpool is easy to get to by train from London (Heathrow Express into Paddington Station, then underground to Euston for trains to Blackpool - check out www.railtrack.co.uk for timetables and www.thetrainline.com for prices and purchase). Blackpool is good fro rides, but you really should try and get to Alton Towers - Nemesis really is a World Beater and the park is stunning. AT is is hard to get to though - it's about two hours drive from Blackpool - you can get there by train and shuttle bus and they do have a hotel - check out their website for more info.

We plan on using trains to get around the UK and all of Europe. We will only have time for one park in England and I did consider Alton Towers but I am really drawn to Blackpool by their ride selection, especially the Wild Mouse, Steeplechase, Grand National, and Valhalla.
