Just returned from a spur-of-the moment long weekend in Madrid. Although there were so many great things to do, I did manage to find a little time to visit the local amusement park, which is easily accessed by the Metro. Open weekends only in the winter, it has a 600 pta. ($3.50) general admission with about a $14-$15 dollar P.O.P. Although some attractions were closed for renovations (open weekends only in the winter), enough was open to give a good idea that this is a fine urban park that must be great during the summer. A Galaxy-type coaster and an inverted looper, called the "Tornado" - strange supports, anybody know the manufacturer? Good variety of spin & spues along with freefall (new generation), flume, raft ride and chutes. A couple of unique-looking rides, including a dark ride of some sort and a nifty-looking kiddy ride consisting of horses mounted on a track a-la steeplechase but no hills. Instead, the horses rock back and forth. Also nice landscaping, food and decent gift shop. Wish I could have stayed longer, but too much to do in too little time. BTW, loved Madrid and found it extremely affordable and lots of fun, especially at $278 round trip.

Nice to hear you liked Madrid and our great Parque de Atracciones. It is not bad to be a little one, is it?
