British calendar/crowd help??

: I am starting to look at next Spring for my
: long-awaited Blackpool visit. Only certain
: weeks are available due to my work schedule.
: One of these would be the week after Easter
: and over the following weekend (Apr. 29-30).
: Something sticks in my mind, however, that
: you folks have three-day "Bank
: Holiday" weekends and that one of these
: might be that weekend. Question - is that
: correct and would I have any trouble getting
: accomodations in Blackpool and/or the Lake
: District at that time of year? Will Valhalla

Aside from Easter, we have two Bank Holidays in May, You can nearly always get accomodation in Blackpool - it's busiest in October wehn it's the Illuminations. I was there this weekend and it was heaving! If you want me to recommend a couple of B&Bs, drop me an email. Valhalla should be open by Easter. They're nearly done building the outside now and it looks really impressive! I believe it's going to have fire and smoke effects and - get this - snow!

Ooh, that sounds great! If you do get the tour, ask them to take you underneath the Derby Racer. It's amazing!
