Greetings From LucasArts
Hello everyone, My name's Chris, and I work for LucasArts helping to promote Thrillville. I'm going to try and check back here every day until the game's release on Nov. 21 (maybe even later), and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. A few things to note: The official website is here. And here are a couple of videos about Thrillville:
And if you're wondering how it relates to the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, the developer Frontier has done an excellent job establishing itself as a premier developer of theme-park games with RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and its expansion pack. It continues this excellent pedigree with Thrillville, but in an entirely different way. Unlike RCT3, which has thrived on the PC platform, Thrillville has been designed from the ground up as a console game, including a different way of handling all building mechanics, plus more console-friendly activities such as minigames. At the same time, the game is in no way a "dumbed-down" version of a PC theme-park experience -- it's just a totally different approach. Best,

Re: Greetings From LucasArts
Chris, Thanks for the post. I'm looking forward to the release. As a Mac user, there have been few choices for me. Pre OS-X there was Sims Theme Park. More recently RCT3 was ported to the Mac, but reviews were mixed at best. The same has been true of the console industry - there hasn't been a successful title, so I haven't been able to get my fix yet on my X-box or PSP. Now LucasArts is going to make me choose! (And don't respond with: buy both!) Haha. Anyhow - my question: what are going to be the differences between the X-box and PSP ports of the game. I would assume, due to space limitation on the UMD format, some features will have to be different. Can you elaborate on the differences to help us choose between platforms? Thanks in advance. Todd |

The biggest difference is that the 100-plus missions in the PSP version are different and shorter than the Xbox's 100-plus missions so as to be more "on the go" with the portable system. Other than that, though, as far as I know, Frontier was able to squeeze everything into the PSP version (if at a lower polygon count). You should just buy both and see for yourself. :-) Best,

Re: Greetings From LucasArts
I don't suppose there is any way that it'll ever come out for Gamecube and/or the Wii, is there. I don't have the money or luck(refering to contest) to just get a new game console, and if not is there anyway to get the suggestion to the company? Just hate to see an amusement park game pass me by, -RCF220 |

I don't know why I asked about the Wii. I can't get that either. -RCF220 |
