Crash on Blackpool's Big Dipper

There was a pretty bad crash on Big Dipper on Tuesday, with 21 people taken to hospital.

Does anyone know if it still uses manual braking, or does it have an automatic system with block zones?

Re: Crash on Blackpool's Big Dipper

It was terrible to hear about the crash. It's one of my fave woodies.

Last thing I knew, it was still a man with a stick! However, should the ride get reopened in the future, you should expect to see it with a computerised system that also handles the despatch (expect looong despatch times) of the trains, much like Grand National.

Chris.
