Mouse Trap

Hi Mouse Fans! :-/

Would anyone be interested in seeing a on-board video of my baby Reverchon? I know it's no B&M!..

Yup, I'll download that if it's between 5-10MB! (56k modem, you see.)

Incidentally, you call the Mouse your baby...I wonder what the actual "baby" mouse is like. There's a travelling-specific small version - looks cool. I have been on a travelling one, but it was as big as Pleasurewood's!

How about 12.82mb?

Right click the link at the bottom of this post and 'Save Target As'. Excuse the dodgy music!

I have been on the one at Lightwater Valley and Fantasy Island. The Pleasurewood one is actually a travelling model. The only difference really is that the park models have gantries on the brakes, like the one at Lightwater Valley. I believe the Fantasy Island one is a smaller model, it seems it.

Watched the video - it's excellent! I love all the technical descriptions. It must be the most proficient video around of a spinning mouse. You also get some nice views of the park (I enlarged it to fullscreen), just like when on the real thing! Very steadily-shot too.

PS - Here are the tech specs for the different mice:

PPS - So Discover Pleasurewood is yours, eh!

The video is awesome. I really like the specifications whilst the ride is moving. 9 brakes overall....very technical. The music is quite funny when the ride starts to spin, but i think it just adds to the effect..lol.

Very good.

Some of the descriptions are a bit obvious, but I thought that the complexity of such a ride can easily be underestimated. Not many rides have 9 sets of brakes, actually the first 7 have two sets of brake pads so its 16 brakes in total. Cars can also stop on the lift hill, rollback areas and the footlift and fore station. The ride is operated by two computers (PLC's), which monitor the distance between the cars and detects if a har has not passed the rollback points. But, with over 30 sensors on the track we occasionaly have random shutdows... I like the rescues :-)

This is intresting as the Fantasy Island one looks smaller, and a guy from work said thaat it was, but looking at the diagrams it didn't have that smaller layout. So it looks like I havn't been on a baby mouse after all.

Glad you liked the vid.

How did you come to that conclusion ;-)
