English at Port Aventura, Barcelona

Hey, this is Pat-O. I usually post on the North American board.

I will be in Barcelona witha group of Baptist in June. I have searched several posts about the park which have been helpful.

2 questions -
I am the only Spanish-speaker in the groups (and no, I don't know Catalan) How will my American and Canadian friends do in the park knowing only English?

Crowds - how are they?

Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

Regarding your first question, all my french friends who don't speak spanish have had no problems at all in the park and many employees speak english. I'll double check on that, but, I think that's the case.

Second question... crowds can get get heavy and 2 most popular rides are the shoot the chutes named Tutuki Splash and the wooden coaster, Stampida.

Staying at the park hotels give you priority access to most of the rides and you can buy combo tickets with the water park.

What exactly to you mean by "priority access?" Is this ERT, or like a fastlane pass?

Thanks a lot for the info. How are lines for Dragon Khan?

If the system still works this year, this works like an unlimited Fast Lane.

I double checked what I mentionned for the language question... and I was right. Most of the staff will speak english. Regarding Priority Access, it works like at USF for resort guests... all the rides, except Stampida I think will give you front of the line access. You can either buy it if you're not a resort guest or if you stay at a resort... it is included, as well as a 1 day ticket to the water park.

Re: English at Port Aventura, Barcelona

Hi Pat,

I think I have linked my site before which has a little info on PA.

When I was there in October queues were no problem, particularly if you had the fast pass..but it depends on what system for fast pass they have running on the day..If the park is busy you have to get a time from an operator to come back and ride..if park is quiet you can just walk through there and then in the fast pass queue...Confused?? Try the link below and click one week at UM

Tutuki Splash didn't have big queues in October but I envisage the park could get VERY busy in Summer.

Here's an update (again!) on the Universal Express at Port Aventura for resort guests. One guy says on a spanish that before 8pm, you get a time to come back (like Fast Pass at Disney) and after 8pm, enter like you want.
