Really? No Interest in Demon Drop's Move to KBF?
Did I miss someone else posting this? Did no one see the official Buena Park document pretty much revealing Demon Drop's move to KBF for a Spring, 2010 opening on the site of the Screamin' Swing upcharge? |

Where did you see or hear about this? I haven't heard a thing. Last I knew CP was trying to sell Demon Drop, it had been closed for a while, and they had no plans to reopen or move it. When did that change? I don't know that it would even fit in that location. That's a relatively small spot, and while the tower might fit, the run off of the ride wouldn't seem to. |

Actually George, they have been running Demon Drop for awhile now. At least most of this season that I know of. I did hear about the move to Knott's. I think another park would benefit from the ride, but it doesn't matter. Cedar Fair does what it wants. Meh, as long as the ride still runs, I'm all for the move. |

I will miss this ride very much, its the last of its kind even close to the east coast. Many miss, including myself Freefall at Great Adventure. I feel safer on them then the newer S&S and Intamin Free Falls. This type only had one incident (The Edge)when it came out and is a perfectly safe and exciting and not death defying ride. At least it was not scrapped. Wish they moved it to DP instead. |

Could this be a sign that they may make bigger upgraded models of this safe ride. I'm up for a 400ft drop or higher on a tower modeled similar to this. They say history repeats it self. |

I'm sure gonna miss it. It was my favorite flat ride in the park and re-rides were always a short wait because of its location and age. Oh well, at least they aren't scrapping it. > Could this be a sign that they may make bigger upgraded
I would doubt that considering Power Tower is right down the midway. Besides, CP has been trying to sell Demon Drop for several years now. I think this could be the first step in a set of major upgrades to the front of the park. It would be nice to see them scrap Disaster Transport and fit a coaster in the area that was occupied by the two rides like Screamscape speculated a couple months ago before CP had announced Shoot the Rapids. I don't think anyone would complain if the first ride of the day was a GCI original. Just sayin' DemonTransport Streak anybody? Zac * This Post Has Been Modified * |

Re: Really? No Interest in Demon Drop's Move to KBF?
I doubt Cedar Point will expand into their parking lot or could justify the cost of a parking structure. Land is cheap compared to California and there is no reason to build up. The parking structures that Disney built at Disneyland and Universal built in Orlando were incredibly expensive. Disney is estimated to have spent around $175-$200 million to build the Mickey & Friends parking structure. Cedar Point will simply remove and replace rides within the current borders. Cedar Point has lots of expansion possibilities within their current borders. |
